God
has no elevators in heaven, but there are elevators here on earth. In the Bible
there are elevators that take us up or let us down.
God’s
elevators go up and down and we end up on different levels. You ask, “Where are
the elevators? I want to get on and move to a new level.”
It
is no secret that Adam and Eve walked with God in the cool of the evening. When
they walked with God they were on the up elevator and at the top. It can’t get
much better than that.
Then
they walked by the forbidden tree and talked to the Serpent. Before the day was
over, they were on the down elevator, and they hit the bottom. It landed them
right out of the Garden, into a weed patch before it was over. They had
experienced both the ups and the downs in life. This was from riches to rags.
Then Adam and Eve put on fig leaves for clothes hoping that would do something for them. This was a cover-up. It is humanism, man’s way to solve a sin problem. They are still on the down elevator. God put them back on an up elevator when he tool off the fig leaves and gave them clothes of animal skins. The up elevator will always deal with sin in the proper way.
Cain
and Abel were on different elevators in life. Cain thought being religious was
good enough when he brought his best grain. That was a down elevator. Abel
brought his best little lamb as a blood sacrifice. That was an up elevator.
Both
Enoch and Noah walked with God and found they were on the up elevator. We can’t
get any higher than that in this life.
Psalm
one tells about God’s up and down elevator. It shows us the up and down buttons
and says the up button has distinct advantages. The up elevator will put us
back in God’s word, and when we delight in God’s word and meditate on it day and
night, we will find we will be walking with God. Blessed is that man. Read the
Bible.

Psalm 91 talks about the person who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
(El Elyon), he will abide under the shadow of the Almighty (El Shaddai). I will
say of the LORD (Jehovah), He is my refuge and my fortress, my God (Eloheem),
in Him will I trust. That person is on the up elevator, heading for the top
floor. Read the Bible. Walk with God.
