this Mona Lisa Smile

this wonderland, this friend

this neverland, this nightmare

it claims to give me everything

but leaves me empty

and longing

Every day you see me

is all there is

or so you think

you don’t see

the friend inside who claims to love me

but rips a hole in my heart

and help me believe that

from where the nails went in
