ETERNITY IN OUR HEARTS

I looked for a buzz in my life today,

A kick, several kicks, to get me away.

What is it, this sickness, this searching for life?

Have I missed out on something

Essential?

I've tried drink, I've tried drugs - just escaped with my life,

Excelled in all sport, and got me a wife,

But nothing will answer the hunger within,

Not religion, nor wisdom, nor darkness nor sin.

One told me 'bout Jesus, but I'm not the type.

Don't expect me to listen to all of that hype.

But maybe, just maybe, it really is true,

that He loves all mankind - and He’s calling me, too?
