His
Plan Never Changes
By

The
situations of life may change, but God never does (Hebrews13:8). He does not
alter His determined plan for our lives. We can step away from it, but He still
has a determined will that is at work molding and shaping us and leading us
back to Him. Many people make mistakes
and worry that they have disappointed God, but we cannot disappoint an
all-knowing God. He knew how we would respond even before temptation pulled at
our hearts. He is committed to loving us through the sorrow of our sin and
helping us get back on track. Someone
reading these words cannot believe life can be lived without the influence of
drugs or alcohol, but it can. Others wonder how God can possibly have a plan
for their lives now that their spouse has left them, but He does. He is not distracted of changed by our
circumstances. He is our Deliverer, and His truth will set us free from the
bondage of sin, doubt, fear, worry, and anxiety. It heals our wounded hearts
and opens up our lives to the possibility of being used once again, or maybe
for the first time, for God’s glory.
Paul
writes to the believers living in the city of Colossae,
“For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray
for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all
spiritual wisdom and understanding.” (Colossians 1:9). Once we realize that God has a promise for
our lives, we begin to understand that this promise involves every area of
life. It doesn’t matter whether we are young or old; God’s plan begins before
we take our first breath and does not end until we are standing in His
presence. “God causes all things to work
together for good to those who love (Him), to those who are called according to
His purpose.” (Romans 8:28). This is
God’s promised will to every man and woman who comes to know Him as Savior and
Lord. No one is excluded from His plan
or purpose. However, we are the ones who must take hold of this promise and
choose to live our lives for Him.
